I provide psychiatric evaluations, collaborative care, or combined therapy and medication management.

Collaboration is neither automatic nor simple; it requires deliberate, ongoing effort and attention to relationships. When done well, it leads to safer and more effective care.

I welcome new referrals and partnerships with therapists and other providers. Open communication is facilitated through my eMR or more extensive phone consultations. Our collaborative work may include:

  • initial consultation - with diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations

  • medication updates

  • progress updates

  • crisis response coordination

Reasons for Referrals

  • Psychiatric Evaluations and Second Opinions

I accept referrals to clarify or confirm a diagnosis and/or review treatment plans. This evaluation is not meant to establish a longterm doctor-patient relationship, but rather a consultation conducted over a single session (additional sessions, as required to complete the assessment).

  • Medication Management

Collaboration with Primary Care, Therapists, Social Workers & Other Specialists

I work collaboratively with local therapists and other specialists to provide psychiatric care and psychotropic medication management for their patients.

  • Combined Psychotherapy and Medication Management

I am available for patients who prefer to work with a single provider for both therapy and medication management.

  • Patient Relocation

If your patient is moving to the area and would like to transfer care, I am available to facilitate a seamless transition. I work with patients virtually in MD, DC or VA, with in-office availability in Rockville, MD.

  • Buprenorphine Maintenance

I currently accept maintenance therapy patients with records from previous providers.

  • Pharmacogenomic Testing

In select circumstances, information from pharmacogenomics can be a useful decision-support tool. It may be beneficial for individuals who have experienced either an inadequate response or adverse effect(s) from a previous medication trial. The testing is administered in-office and results are usually available for review within 1-2 weeks.

If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
